Last week, I ran away to the beach. I do this as often as I can, although not nearly as often as I’d like. If I had my way, I’d never leave. While hiding under an umbrella and 100 SPF sunscreen (I burn so easily), I engaged in one of my favorite activities—reading so much my Kindle runs out of juice while listening to the sound of the surf.
One of the books that I read while I was there was an advanced reader copy of Admonition by Kathryn Amurra. It comes out on Saturday (June 5) and if you like historical romance, grab it!

Admonition is the second in Kathryn’s Soothsayer’s Path series, but functions as a stand-alone. Even if you haven’t read her first book, Soothsayer, you won’t be lost. (Although do yourself a favor and read Soothsayer. It’s good!)
Admonition tells the story of Sabina, a young widowed noblewoman, who takes a vow of silence after her soothsayer aunt’s prediction that words are dangerous and will harm those she loves. Undaunted by her silence, Lucius, a leading contender for the Imperial throne, is drawn to her. Set against the backdrop of Ancient Rome’s cut-throat politics, Sabina must decide if breaking her silence will save Lucius or seal his fate.
If you are looking for a great summer read, pick up Admonition starting June 5!
